Getting Paid Across Borders: Crypto and Local Payments for Bookies

The platform tracks the balances; you move the money. When your players are spread across countries and currencies, settlement day needs a system. Here is what experienced agents do.

First, a reminder of how the money works

A pay per head provider never touches player funds. Your agent panel records every deposit, payout and adjustment so your figures are exact, but the actual transfer between you and a player happens outside the platform, by whatever method you both agree. The only money that moves to the provider is your weekly per-head invoice.

That means you are free to use whatever works in each player's country. Most agents end up with three or four methods.

Stablecoins: the cross-border default

USDT (Tether) on the Tron network has become the most common way agents settle with players in different countries. It is pegged to the US dollar, transfers arrive in a minute or two, fees are usually under a dollar, and both sides can convert to local currency through any exchange or a peer-to-peer market.

  • Pros: fast, cheap, works in every country, no chargebacks, easy to reconcile.
  • Cons: players need a wallet and some familiarity with crypto; exchange rates to local currency vary by market.

Bitcoin is also widely used, especially for larger amounts, but its price moves, so agree the amount in dollars at the time of transfer. Global PPH accepts both for your weekly invoice as well.

Local instant payments: fastest inside a country

If a group of your players is in one country, use that country's instant-payment rail:

CountrySystemNotes
BrazilPIXInstant, 24/7, free for individuals. Ubiquitous.
MexicoSPEIInstant bank-to-bank; works with most digital wallets.
ColombiaPSE, Nequi, DaviplataWallet-to-wallet is common for smaller amounts.
IndiaUPIInstant and free; be aware of daily limits.
UKFaster PaymentsInstant bank transfer, widely used for settlement.
EurozoneSEPA InstantSeconds between most EU banks.
Nigeria / KenyaBank transfer, M-PesaMobile money dominates in East Africa.
United StatesZelle, Cash App, VenmoFast, but app terms of service vary; many agents prefer cash or crypto.

E-wallets and cash

Skrill and Neteller work across most of Europe, Latin America and Asia and are familiar to players who have used offshore sites before. Western Union and MoneyGram still have a role for players without bank accounts. And cash, handed over in person, remains the backbone of many local books. There is nothing wrong with that as long as it is recorded in the panel the same day.

A settlement routine that scales

  1. Pick one day. Most agents settle Monday or Tuesday after the weekend's fixtures grade.
  2. Run the weekly figures. Your panel shows each player's net position in their own currency.
  3. Settle in the player's method. USDT for cross-border players, local instant payment for domestic ones, cash where that is the habit.
  4. Record every transfer immediately. A deposit or payout you enter in the panel the moment it happens is one you will never argue about.
  5. Keep a float in each currency. Enough to pay winners on a bad weekend without waiting for losers to pay first.

Keep it clean

Whatever methods you use, know the rules that apply to you and your players: tax reporting, transfer limits and the terms of service of any wallet or app. Consistency and good records protect you, your players and your business.

Global PPH shows every player's balance in their own currency and consolidates your figures in yours, so settlement day across three countries takes minutes, not hours. Start your free week.
